Our under chassis cast in manifold was designed by our founder Varuna Krishnaratna in 1997. It revolutionised the heavy vehicle underbody washing industry buy enabling a low cost civil works option – particularly on existing wash bays where down time for civil works needed to be minimised.
Since then it has been copied widely in the industry around the world. However subtle engineering improvements from the designer of the original manifold, means the Arrow Hawke units have now all but eliminated slab fracture and fatigue prevalent with lower cost copies provided by others.
The basic unit comprises a galvanised steel or stainless steel fabricated manifold. This framework is 3000mm wide and can be installed in existing or new truck and bus wash bays.

The manifold is equipped with 18-52 cyclonic nozzles designed and manufactured by Arrow Hawke Industries after we perform computational fluid dynamics modelling using AutoDesk CFD on a case by case basis. Above or underground settling tanks where the primary sediment settling and water buffering occurs. This is also where hydrocarbons are isolated for treatment via an oily water separator which is now mandatory in all jurisdictions in Australia and New Zealand.
Glass media filter with activated carbon for filtration. The activated carbon is the first step in odour control. Our systems have completely automated back wash systems to ensure filters operate in an optimised condition and not dependant on operator engagement every week because we all know that is never going to happen. Systems designed for the environment they are being installed in.
A vertical gravity oily water separator removes any oil from the water before being discharged to sewer OR from water being pumped into the filter to extend the life of the filter.
PH dosing systems may be necessary depending on the type of chemicals being used to clean the vehicle. For example it could be necessary to use oxalic acid as a detergent when washing shipping containers. The used water must thus be pH balanced before it can be discharged to sewer.
